Three Saturdays, April 15th (1-3pm), April 29th (1-4pm), May 13th (1-3pm)   $60.00*

Instructor:  Elena Homans

Knots in all colors of the rainbow plus stripey toes – sweet as candy and lots of knitting fun! Advanced or ambitious beginners can jump into their first colorwork experience. Intermediate knitters will not be bored either getting some new techniques under their belts. Estonian Nupps, anybody?

In this workshop, you’ll learn all the basic (and not so basic) skills you need to knit a top-down sock, adorned by elements of stranded colorwork. You will knit your first pair of real-sized adult socks with a fingering weight yarn. No previous sock knitting experience required.

There is some homework for the class.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN: classical cuff down sock construction, ambidextrous knitting (one yarn held in each hand), joining and weaving in a new color in colorwork, making your socks to fit perfectly, working a heel flap, picking up stitches for the gusset, gusset shaping, Kitchener stitch, chart reading, Estonian Nupp stitch, swatching for knitting in the round.

Prerequisites:  confident knitting in the round (preferably Magic loop method).

*plus materials (Yarn del Sol yarns are to be used)
