Honora - A Must Have Sweater

Four Saturdays 6/10, 6/24, 7/8, 7,22  12:30-2:30pm  $45.00*

A seamless, open front cardigan with diagonal eyelet cables on the body and sleeves that is sure to become your favorite throw-on.

In this four part workshop, you'll learn to make a sweater body in one piece to the arms. You'll also learn the technique of creating traveling cables without a cable needle, sweater assembly, front band construction and blocking tips for sweaters.  Jan will offer lots of help with simultaneous shaping directions.

This workshop is designed for the advanced beginner on up.

Bunny Hop Hat

One Saturday, April 8th 12:30-3pm  $15.00*

Come join Jan and make this adorable hat. Sizes run from newborn to adult so pick your size and go!  The flowers can be knit or crocheted and Jan will have both patterns available for you in class.  Now, there is a bit of homework for this one. Preferably, you'll have the hat portion done before class so you can learn the ears, ear attachment, flowers and tail in class.  If you need some help on the hat, please come to one of Jan's Drop Ins as her guest so get this accomplished.

This really is a quick project, and you'll be able to get quite a few done before Easter!

Dotty Knots

Three Saturdays, April 15th (1-3pm), April 29th (1-4pm), May 13th (1-3pm)   $60.00*

Knots in all colors of the rainbow plus stripey toes – sweet as candy and lots of knitting fun! Advanced or ambitious beginners can jump into their first colorwork experience. Intermediate knitters will not be bored either getting some new techniques under their belts. Estonian Nupps, anybody?

In this workshop, you’ll learn all the basic (and not so basic) skills you need to knit a top-down sock, adorned by elements of stranded colorwork. You will knit your first pair of real-sized adult socks with a fingering weight yarn. No previous sock knitting experience required.

There is some homework for the class.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN: classical cuff down sock construction, ambidextrous knitting (one yarn held in each hand), joining and weaving in a new color in colorwork, making your socks to fit perfectly, working a heel flap, picking up stitches for the gusset, gusset shaping, Kitchener stitch, chart reading, Estonian Nupp stitch, swatching for knitting in the round.

Prerequisites:  confident knitting in the round (preferably Magic loop method).

What could be cuter than your own tiny knitted rabbit? Jan will guide you through each step to creating your unique and personalized bunny including clothes! If you need a boy bunny, his clothes are available as an extra pattern.

In this workshop, you'll learn to seam small toy components, add features to face, placement of ears, picking the correct yarn (see Jan in the days prior to the class), and how to properly stuff a small toy.

Tartan and Tweed Tam or Beanie

Two Wednesdays, March 22nd and April 5th from 6-8pm  $40.00*

Tartan & Tweed mitts have impressive Fair Isle Looks with utmost simplicity.  A little like tartan, a little like tweed, the fabric is interesting as it is uncomplicated.  Seamless construction continually stranded around without having to cut or weave in any ends but for the start and finish.

Also included in this workshop is a nice beanie option rather than the tam.

In this workshop you'll learn stranded knitting in the round, magic loop, trapping colors, choosing appropriate needle for your gauge, reading very simple color charts, choosing shape and color-ways for a unique project.

In this Advanced Beginner Workshop you'll learn to read very simple color charts as well as learn stranded knitting in the round, trapping colors, choosing needle size for gauge, hiding ends, mixing and changing patterns for a personalized look.  You'll also learn magic loop!

Three Saturdays  March 11th, 25th and April 8th 12:30-2:30pm  $60.00*

A beautiful and lacy shawlette worked at a loose gauge has wonderful drape.  Never boring, lace and leaf patterns echo nature and wrap you in luxury. This internmediate pattern will be taught with many helpful hints as well as blocking instructions.

Students will learn the provisional cast on, reading lace charts, transitioning from chart to chart, advanced increases and decreases and helpful use of markers.

*plus materials.  Only Yarn del Sol yarns may be used.

Weave a Scarf!

Two Mondays April 24th 11am-2pm and May 15th 11am-1pm  $75.00*

Instructor:  Michelle Lee

Learn how to weave! Come find out how to interlace your threads on a rigid heddle loom. In this class you will learn how to dress your loom, i.e. direct warping, winding on, tying on, spreading the warp, and weaving plain weave.  Part One is a 4-hour class with a little break halfway through.  You will start weaving in class and finish weaving at home. Part 2 is a 2-hour follow up class after you have woven your scarf so Michelle can show you how to take it off the look and finish it.

Skill Level: Beginner

Class is limited to 4 students.  Looms will be available for purchase.

African Flower - An Introduction to Animals & More

One Saturday, January 21st 12:30-3:30pm  $25.00*

Instructor:  Jan Cornelius

Crochet an African Flower and you can now create everything from a giraffe to a dragon.  If amazing stuffed animals aren't your thing, these motifs assembled like a puzzle, can make a fabulous baby blanket or purse! Another workshop will be announced at a later date to learn assembly of the motifs.

In this workshop you will learn to begin in the center, move outwards, change colors easily, hide ends and successfully make a motif.  You'll learn to change the beginning to make 5, 6, 7, and 8 sided flowers and sewing them together. Each student will consult with the instructor for help on number and shapes needed for finished piece.

Prerequisites:  this class is for a crocheter who knows chain, sc, dc at the minimum.
