Plumpy Shawl - Brioche and Garter!

2 three hour sessions:  Saturdays, February 16th & February 23rd  12:00-3:00pm  $60*

Instructor:  Elena

Brioche and Garter are a match made in heaven - and the combination offers endless possibilities. Even though you may have been knitting for a while now, you will never get bored once you discover the Brioche Stitch.  Andrea Mowry's eye catching Plumpy Shawl combines garter stitch with Brioche in two colots. The colors play together in a whole new way leaving you with a texture that makes you want to keep on knitting.  You'll combine away with both the technique and the inspiration to indulge in an even more stunning reversible fabric of Brioche.

In this workshop you will learn structure of brioche stitches, brioche knit, brioche purl, working one-and two-color flat brioche, brioche increases and decreases, reading brioche charts.

This is an Intermediate level class.  This workshop is not for beginning knitters and the shawl will require focus and dedication.

Plus Yarn del Sol yarns - we have kits for this class in both DK and Sport weights.

Instructor:  Elena Homans

Afterthought heels are great for when you just don't want to work a heel along with the sock - like when you are knitting on the road.  Additionally, we can make an afterthought heel in another color to add visual interest to our socks.  It's also a great choice for color work socks or socks made with a self-striping or self-patterning yarn.  This way your pattern will not be broken up or rearranged on the front of the sock.  As an extra bonus, if your heel ever wears out, it's relatively easy to remove and replace it.

There is homework for this class so please sign up early and have your homework completed before attending class.

In this workshop you will learn peasant sock heels - both forethought and true afterthought heels; thumb-joint hat top heel/toe, flattop heel.
